7 Best Online Marketing Hacks for a Successful Product Launch (in 2022)

  1.  1. Be seen by Google

Make sure you have your SEO on point.  It's great to have your website positioned well on search engines so that you have traffic to allow you to show off your product. Doing this prior to launching allows you to get ahead.

Search engines want to provide the most helpful, relevant, and credible answer or solution for the user. Therefore, your page is scanned for keywords, meta descriptions and the first paragraph of the text and almost categorised as to where it would you on a search. You should focus on these three areas to take your website to the top spot:

Keywords: Don’t think about what you would call your product or how you would describe it, but rather how a new user would search for it.

Meta Descriptions: Meta descriptions are an outline of your web page on search engines, so they need to be short and attractive. However, Google sometimes ignores this description and shows the first lines of text on your page, so be sure they are written well.

The first paragraph of text: The objective here is to make sure readers know and understand what your product is in the least amount of reading time possible.

  1. 2. Set Up Socials

If you have not already, it’s best to set up your social platforms before launching, this can be Instagram, Facebook, YouTube etc. This way you can gain followers and interest prior, getting a head start. You can start to post and talk to your followers about the product that will be coming soon (without giving too much away) and how it could benefit them. Once you have created a buzz and have them interested, create a page for them to sign up to hear about the product when it first releases. This will give you emails ready for email marketing, and it will allow you to keep track of how you’re doing before launching.

  1. 3. Content at the Ready

In order to create the buzz, create content ahead of time. Being too organised never hurt anybody, but instead set them up for success. Let me explain this further, if you decide that Instagram is where your target audience is, you should create at least 10 posts before launch. This way you can post the “coming soon” posts before release, and then have the rest ready to showcase your asset. Another benefit of this is that you can keep your branding consistent without rushing it later, and you can really think about your KPI’S. This leads on to the final hack; download a planner to organise your content. This could be Panoly, later, UNUM or Loomly. These platforms allow you to see the content in order of posting and they can also give you the option to schedule posts.

  1. 4. How to Create Buzz

Your content should be engaging and make people want to share it with their friends and family. There are a whole host of ways to do this; quizzes, polls, memes, your blog. This is also your business though and you do have to make sales, it’s good to balance this out with a product demonstration, testimonials, high quality product images and industry news.

Giveaways can bring new audiences to your page, as your audience can be in with the chance to win if they share with other people. It helps you build your social following, and spread the word about your giveaway to your entrants’ friends and family. The engagement can be high and it only means the cost of one product for you.

  1. 5. Try a New Platform

Tik Tok is a platform that has grown significantly from when it first launched back in 2016 and now has 1 billion active users. If you don’t know what it is, it’s video-sharing social networking service that allows you to create and post videos. These videos can be seen by anyone, and can also be shared. According to Tik Tok “The system recommends content by ranking videos based on a combination of factors — starting from interests you express as a new user and adjusting for things you indicate you’re not interested in, too”.

This is great for businesses to reach larger audiences (that’s if your audience is using the platform so be sure to do some research). You can create videos that demonstrate your product, you can answer questions, teach others about it and even behind the scenes. Content that is relatable and emotional will excel here as that what engages people.

  1. 7. Network with Influencers

Influencers are people that have a large following on social media and usually have their niches, for example, fashion, lifestyle, technology or cooking. It is good to build relationships and network with those who are in the same industry as you as they can share your product with their audience. However, be sure to check if your target audience aligns with their followers as this is crucial. It is also better to engage with influencers that are smaller as influencers with large followings can cost a lot more.

It can be useful to give a handful of influencers a free product to try and review on their social channels. This can bring in their loyal audiences to you and you can also use their Feedback as testimonials for your page.
